HD Install :: hd install

I am a newbie to linux. I have been successful in using DSL from my CD but when going to install it to my hd I cannot do it. I have followed the instructions you have posted in the FAQ section. After making the partition of my hd and rebboting the cd when I get the prompt "boot :" i just type the commands   "sudo -u root dsl-hdinstall"   but nothing happens. Could someone explain me what commands should i type? or what should I do to make the hd installation?

Those commands are not typed at the first boot prompt.
Boot up from CD, then select Xshell and at that prompt type your command.

sorry for my poor performance in X but i need extra help. When trying to make the hd installation in tne Xterminal I get the prompt "damnsmall@ttyp0[damnsmall]$" I do type the following commands "sudo -u root dsl- hdinstall /dev/hda1/"
and then I get the prompt "sudo: dsl- command not found"

Hi,
I am also attempting to install it on to my harddrive.
The unit is white box Petium 133 16MB, 2gig Hd
Yes I know I should have more memory but this is all I have for now.
I booted from the cd ,
I am on the main screen
I right click and the menu comes up
I highlight XSHELL a second menu appears and I click on XSHELLS
And nothing happens.  It just sets there and does not do anything.

In fact other itemes on the menu also do not seem to work.
What do you think do I have a bad copy of DSL ?
I checked the cd out and another machine and is worked oK.
I wonder how people have got this to run 486's?
So what now?
