myDSL Extensions (deprecated) :: Firefox-0.9.3.1 and j2re1.4.2_05.uci

I have built the latest sun java version into another .uci file ..
This one works with the firefox-0.9.3.dsl ..
I have already installed the symlink for both flash and java ..
Download flash in your usual way, and it should work fine..
Install the j2re1.4.2_05.uci, and your java should work fine in Firefox-0.9.3.1.dsl

I had minimal success with getting this java version working with Opera.
According to the opera website, this version SHOULD work with it ..
I get it detected ok, and if you run about:plugins , you can see the java installed
I only get limited success when using it at java sites..

I included the old mozila/libjavaplugin_oji.so from the 1.4.2 version as well.
I may need to work with the symlink in firefox-0.8.uci and tar.gz t make it
work with this later version of java ..
Try a manual symlink for now, just to test..

Both firefox-0.9.3.1.dsl and j2re1.4.2_05.uci are in the testing area ..
Feedback is welcomed ..

i think there is some mismatch in where firefox-plugins are stored.
this new firefox-0.9.3.1.dsl has its plugins in /opt/firefox-0.9.3.1/plugins
but mplayerplug-in.dsl puts the plugins in /opt/firefox/plugins

i like the way the old firefox-0.8.uci stores the plugins, have a symlink to /opt/.firefox_plugins

@ke4nt1
do you have alsadebs.dsl installed?

i had them installed. firefox-9.3.1 ran fine.
when i booted without alsadebs.dsl, firefox did not run, missing a libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0

The mismatch is intentional..

I built these yesterday with the idea of getting java working in FF-093
Only java is symlinked differently, since it cannot use the old j2re1.4.2 ..

If I symlink to the same dir, then there is no distinction in the java versions.

The flash plugin still symlinks to /opt/.firefox_plugins ..
Any other plugins should have the same ability ..

Making mplayerplugin work with it may be step 2 after initial testing is complete.
We can always edit mplayerplugin to use /opt/.firefox_plugins instead..

The original firefox-0.9.3.dsl is still in the main repository area if you need it ..

No to alsadebs, I always test in a pristine bootup..
Firefox does require gnu-utils to be installed.. Perhaps it has the lib you seek..

i understand why "The mismatch is intentional"
i have no problem with that, i know how to get mplayer plugin working.

i have gnu-utils loaded ( or else alsadebs would compain)

until now i have used firefox8, the "old" firefox9.3 did not satify. this firefox9.3.1 looks very prommising!
