User Feedback :: 0.7.3 not opening apps
I'm able to open a few things like Dillo and XMMS but that's about it. I can't open Control Panel, Emelfm or Xpaint. What's going on? Thanks!

Did you enable the desktop icons? I think most of the programs you are looking for should be on the desktop. What you do is right-click on the desktop so the menu appears then you should be able to find the option to enable desktop icons. (Sorry I cant be more descriptive, but I'm not home, so I don't have it in front of me right now.)
I can only suggest a couple of things...just guessing.
Can you launch these applications from a terminal?
What are the permissions of ~/.fluxbox/menu? Older versions of some of the extensions changed ownership of this file to root...perhaps read permissions were also messed up?
I can't think of anything else at the moment.
Hm...well, for some reason, I'm able to open up stuff (cpanel, paint, etc.) right after the destop is done loading.
Donttpanic: I see the icons on my desktop and I don't see any enable icons button.
milkshaw: like I didn't say, I can't open up a term. Now I can't do anything in the right click menu...like I said, though...they work a little bit when I first start DSL then they poop out.

Sometimes a bad extension can do this,
or making other changes to your filesystem or fluxbox setup.
Oftentimes, you can ctrl-alt-bksp out to the main shell, and run startx again.
This rebuilds your desktop...
If all your icons are gone, check the menu owners/permissions.
Check for a bad lnk file in your .xtdesktop directory.
