Multimedia :: sound on a hitachi laptop

I have a Hitachi traveler laptop - pretty old.  It has 40 meg ram, 133 pentium, 1 gig HD.  Without a CD drive I have installed DSL with floppies and flash cards via pcmcia slot.  It works great and is sooooo much better than the win95 I found on it.  

So far so good, but, I'm stuck on getting the sound to work.  

This is what I know about the sound:
Sound Blaster Pro
Port 220
IRQ 5
DMA 1

I've tried many of the posts for getting sound to work, and no luck.

Any help?
