Multimedia :: DMix with MB nVidia sound

I finally got my nVidia (C-Media) card working using alsa.dsl using Intel8x0.

Oddly, I only get PCM marked at 100%.  The "Master Volume" does nothing.  Anyway to fix this so I can moderate my volume other than using the speaker knob?  I also have aumix loaded, but the volume seems unaffected by the comand line too.

Oddly enough, my nvidia integrated chipset under windows using the "latest" drivers, my Master Volume does nothing either.
Using older drivers had this working (but they had another problem) - so my guess is that there's a problem with the drivers...
(haven't tested dsl on this yet though)

Thanks... I am happy to get some sound though, so I can't complain too much:-)  Still, if I decide to boot into DSL after using (true) Debian or Windows, I get a loud surprise when something makes a sound in DSL.
What version of DSl are you using?

What is the output from 'umix -q'?

c-Media Electronics CMI9761::/dev/mixer::oss
everything that is output is set at 0 except for PCM which shows up as 100, and Video shows up as 100

DSL 3.01
