Multimedia :: Soundcard and drivers found, can't hear a thing

Hi, I have been using DSL for a while, but only today I discovered that sound doesn't work. I tried to use sndconfig. It just told me : "The following error has happened (this space was empty) " (or like that). However, at boot it seems to find and initialize the card just fine:

I haven't yet been able to verify this in Windows, as the operating system itself seemingly doesn't show the model of the soundcard. What do you think?
