Multimedia :: Can't install libimlib2

Hi all. I'm new to DSL, and trying to use it to build a digital picture frame out of an old laptop.
I want to use Feh for the slideshow, and it needs libimlib2 to work, but when I try to dpkg the deb file, i get nothing but this output:
"dpkg: Invallid control file in libimlib2_1.2.1-2_i386.deb". I've tried 3 different versions of the libraries, and none work.
Any ideas?
