HD Install :: need help (minimum req)

hi,

i'm a newbie so i need to ask a couple a question, i've read a how to documment but it seem didn't answer my question, so i hope u would give some help.

i use an old pc (AMD duron 700; 64 sdram; 8mb VGA), so, can i use this pc to run DSL? cos i think DSL not need a powerfull pc (am i right?)

i want use this linux to develop gis mapping based on web, i used to make my final task, so please help me,,,
