HD Install :: wont boot lilo

i just put my 2.5inch laptop HDD in my tower and when i go into the terminal and type what is needed it will install and will ake me if i want to install lil so i press Y , it will say that most of the places do not exict. when i reboot it will get NOTHING.

what types partitions does DSL require?

i have a 340MB HDD and will it be enough? (all i want to do it learn linux and install NO APPS)
