HD Install :: Other linux type boot...

Hello guys,
I remember somebody posting a link on how to do this but can't find it so....

I need to login to the system and only then be able to use it don't want to boot into user dsl and be able to su ... want a rather secure system.

One simple way is to boot with the "secure" option.
Another way is to run the passwd command as root and then backup /etc/shadow.

Here's a more complicated thing you can try:

These actions will *not* prevent dsl from using "sudo command" to gain root access without a password. Changing that behavior will mean some DSL scripts might not work unless you run them from a terminal (i haven't tested that theory).
The best method of staying safe is to log out when you leave the machine. DSL seems to be pretty tight against remote access. You could install screen if you need to keep apps running after you log out and reconnect to them when you log in again.

Thank you very much Mikshaw for your reply and your postings out there.

I removed dsl user from the /etc/sudoers file to stop dsl be able to sudo but I guess I will revert back, add another user and kinda treat both root and dsl as root.
