HD Install :: keyboard problem

Hi,
while installing DSL on the HD, I've chosen azerty keyboard, but I'd like to change it to dvorak now.
if I kill X, type loadkeys dvorak, I can use dvorak layout in a console, but when I startx, I still get azerty.
when I make kbdconfig, il doesn't work
when I make setxkbmap dvorak, I got error message XKB extension not present on :0.0

I don't have any idea anymore
Does someone have a clue about how I could solve this problem ?
