HD Install :: .7.2 HD Install Issue
We are aware of the issue with hard drive install. It will be fixed in 0.7.3 out RSN. No problems with liveCD and only affects certain drive geometries. 0.7.2 will install to some hard drives, not all. Thanks to Chris for helping me find this problem.
Thanks. Looking forward to 7.3. Excellent work.
Success! Able to install to hda1 using frugal install from url. Great little routine, found 7.2, downloaded it, installed it. Amazing.
make a boot floppy for frugal and now try standard hd-install from the new frugal install to a new partition made in the usual way. The boot floppy is handy as if something goes wrong with your hd install then use the boot floppy to remount the frugal install and have an easy reliablr hd install
-just a thought and it's the way i run dsl as i cannot install from url due to ram limits
No success here
Trying to install DSL 0.7.3 on my HDD, which is on the secondary IDE channel (no choice, theres little room in my mini-itx box
).
As people have said it earlier it complains of 'no linux partition' despite cfdisk showing there is.
Any ideas?
Also, was going to give the frugal method a try, but it specifies /dev/hda HDDs only, can it be made to work with '/dev/hdc'
