HD Install :: After loadlin install...
First of all, Hey!
Recently installed? using the LoadLIN method. But now every time i reboot linux i have to re-config my settings and all my packages that i downloaded are/were gone. I know the same person describing how to execute the LoadLin method of install also described how to install additional packages. now, i am willing to partition for DSL ( 100 mb's ). What type of file system will i need? wait! how? i mean can i boot linux and do it from there (*install to the new partition)? or do i have to move the kernal image and other files ( see Loadlin Install for files ) to the new partition and then boot using loadlin? or not loadlin? i just want a stable ready to use at anytime installation of DSL. I know one of you know what to do, please help me, and dont just ignore this plea.
Thanks,
Paul
Edit* sorry about the extra post, hit the wrong button.
Consider doing a normal HD install, which will cost you more than 100mbs, but the learning curve is a little friendlier. There's lots of info on this at the wiki:
