HD Install :: Challenge of the week!
Alright here's the deal: This lappy needs DSL. To answer some questions: No, there is no CD or Floppy Drive. No, I am not going to buy an adapter. Yes, it is networked. Yes, it is running win95.
Alright, Let's see if we can get a Hard drive install going on this beast, eh? You can use any resource available, as long as no $$ is let out of my pocket. 133 mhz processor, 80MB ram, 1.3 gig drive (But we're using 400MB).. made for DSL.. So, get your brain moving and let's figure this out! ^_-
The solution exists.
1) Pull the hard drive and install from a different computer, then replace back in original computer.
OR
Download tom's root boot linux and start it up via the "loadlin" MSDOS/Win95/98 linux bootloader.
Then use the frugal_lite install script to download and install DSL.
OR
Download DSL , extract the files from the ISO via a program like WinISO and then boot up DSL directly via the loadlin program.
Good Luck.
