HD Install :: HD install + no floppy method

I'm a REAL noob at all this. so please bear with me.

I'm running a thinkpad 570 with pentium II.

I followed the floppy install how to from this site here: http://damnsmalllinux.org/install_from_floppy.html

I got all the way up to the first boot, however, while booting it comes upon an error.

when i boot normally i get this error after the isapnp check:
unable to handel kernel paging request at virtual address d48a8000...

I then tried failsafe and get this after page cache hah table entries:
unable to handle kernal paging request at virtual address 53000028

please help if you can, if you need anymore info, let me know.
