HD Install :: Problem with installing
I have problem to install DSL on my laptop Pentium 75Mhz 8mb
I have made a fat 32 partion and copy KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX to it and made a boot floppy but when i run floppy i get Syslinux 2.04 (debain, 2003-06-00) Boot failed What sould i do?
Could be the fat32 partition. This is a Windows filesystem, and not recommended for Linux systems.
It would help a lot if you could post the exact error(s) you receive.
i just get Syslinux 2.04 (debain, 2003-06-00) Boot failed
i have use this http://damnsmalllinux.org/install_from_floppy.html
It could be that your PC does not like the version of SYSLINUX that is used for the boot floppy.
You can change it with a newer or older version of syslinux by visiting the syslinux developer's website and download a different version.
Either that or you probably don't have enough RAM to boot up DSL.
It is possible to (barely) boot into DSL text mode with only 12MB of RAM, but 16MB is the real minimum for all practical purposes.
