HD Install :: Installation in German

Hi,
I used DSL from cd with the lang=de option - no problem.
But now I would like to install it on harddisk.
How can I get the German keyboard layout?
Menu: System/Keyboard does not work

Hello,
I had no problems installing dsl with german keyboard layout.
During installation I was asked for selection of a keyboard and selected something like 'de latin with nodeadkeys'.
The list of suggestions was not in alphabethic order. Perhaps you missed the 'de' entrys?

Hi Christian,

the feature to select the language comes with dsl 1.XXX version. It is possible to edit some files to get the german keyboard and I would recommend to get the 1.0.1 version. If you select your xvesa setting the keyboard questions comes here. So if you have the 1.XXX version, just enter the console and type "xsetup.sh" and then des Xvesa setting should appear.

PS: Ach ja, wenn das Englisch nicht so gut war, dann kann ich es auch gerne noch einmal auf Deutsch dir mitteilen, falls du wirklich nicht auf eine neuere version umsteigen möchtest - das Problem wurde schon einmal im Forum diskutiert und du solltest schnell die Lösung finden
