HD Install :: (Dualboot) HD Install but no CD-Rom
YES......it works.
I had the knoppix-file 1 place "to deep" in my directory of Win98, but now I can boot DSL with the bootfloppy.
Still....I want to do a install on the new created linux-partition hda6 but I do NOT want the bootloader on my HD. Can this be done....
Richard.
You can do an hdinstall and skip the mkliloboot process.
Then manually install the lilo loader to your hda6 partition instead of your master boot record.
Finally, use a floppy disk booter like the SMART BOOT MANAGER to boot up DSL from hda6.
I'm sure that there are many other alternatives too.
