HD Install :: xinit problem (errno 2)

Hello, I'm new to linux and have an older computer I wanted to use linux on. It only had 64MB of memory so I decided to go with DSL. Anyway, I followed the hd install directions and when I removed the cd and booted from the hd i get

xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server.
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
