HD Install :: Howto Install DSL  on a Compact Flash

Hello all,
I'm just wondering if it is possible to install DSL on a Compact Flash SBC mainboard.
Thanks

Hello,

Of course.
A Compact Flash Card is handled like a normal HD.

Mind your Diskspace.

How does one proceed?  I have a machine here that can write CF's and a (small) box that will be running of the CF.

Can I write the ISO-image to the CF, or should I proceed some other way to prepare the CF?

For running from a CF, you will want to do a frugal install.

use the "dsl install" cheatcode and choose Frugal install and follow the prompts.

or, if you are already in X, Apps >> Tools >> Frugal Install.

-J.P.

But how do I do this on a system that ONLY has a CF as 'hard drive'?   ???

I a way that I can prepare a CF on a non DSL-system (Windows or Linux) and then I want to be able to insert that CF in the new system and boot from it...

Possible?
