HD Install :: HD install-wrote partition table but

HD install-wrote partition table but could not read it and dsl advised me to reboot which I did.  Now I can only see hda3  

maybe I have a bad HD?

please give me your thoughts and passed experiences respectfull users  

I might be running from the CD for a while but have a test project either for DSL
