HD Install :: Virtual hard drive install?

iam using microsoft virtual pc 2004 on windows xp and i have a virtual machine created and a virtual hard drive and can mount the iso as a cd and boot from it, but how do i get DSL onto the vhd? the reason im doing this is because dsl is of course, small and i need it for a little php webserver for testing scripts on linux

im a noooby, now i need to get mysql on there somehow
