HD Install :: HD install degenerating...
Is the FAQ you're referring to this one? I don't see any information on this problem...
As I mentioned in the first post, I had problems with the non-uci files (that is, the *.dsl ones, etc.) after a while.
Sorry for the extreme newbiness, but do I have to be root to mount the files? (It says "mount: can't find /tmp in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab". Why doesn't it let me do it from the current directory?)
I tried adding "mydsl-load /tmp/firefox.uci" in .xinitrc, but it doesn't work. I added it after "fluxbox" (am I supposed to have an & after each line? When I added the & after "fluxbox", it gave me an error, so I took it out.).
Thanks.
No, I am not talking about that FAQ. The FAQ I am talking about is actually on these forums.
Which MyDSL files?
No, you don't have to be root to mount (usualy). What are you trying to mount? LiveCD or HD Install? From the error it looks like your trying to mount it using mount (and the /tmp directory at that). You use the mydsl-load command to mount the .ico file.
It must be before fluxbox! Eck! fluxbox must be alone on the very last line.
Hope this helps,
~Me
When I tried to mydsl-load firefox.uci with emelfm, it says:
/dev/cloop8: No such device
----end-of-output----
Does firefox work regardless of the error?
How many times have you loaded up *.uci extensions?
Depending on your version of DSL, you can only have 4 or 8 cloop devices in use at the same time. Since the DSL itself is run from 1 cloop device, that leaves you with 3 or 7 left to play with.
Either that or you are thinking that you disconnected your last *.uci connection even though in reality it is still connected and you have run out of available cloop devices.
