HD Install :: Problem when Frugal install to CF

hi,
i got problem when Frugal install to CF.
i use a cf2ide convertor to connect a 64MB cf to the ide. i use the following commands to  creat a ext2 partition:
sudo su
fdisk /dev/hdc
n ...........
w
and i format the cf using :
mke2fs /dev/hdc1
i verified hdc1 is ok by mounting it sucessfully(a green light).
but when i clicked the app>tool>Frugal install and entered the dest: hdc1, the Frugal install go off immediately, as nothing happened.
the same thing happened to a hard drive (hdd1) too.
any idea what's wrong?
thx.

One thing I can think of is, that you must unmount the CF before you run the script, that goes for the hard drive also.

my cf card and hdd perviously used a bootmanager called "bootstar", but i formatted the cf in a digi-cam b4 anything here begin.
are all cf the same when using with dsl?
thx. for yr idea anyway.
