HD Install :: Newbie Question

Hello,

here is my newbie question:

i am doing a frugal installation to my 256MB CompactFlash card. But I need to remaster my installation, eg. i want to install java on it, BUT i do not want that the jre or other java programs write directly onto the CompactFlash.

Is a remastering of the frugal DSL possible, to keep the "frugal mode" of DSL?
