HD Install :: Firefox installed on the HDD?
Hi,
i am a newbie and still learning. I have installed DSL 0.8 on the Harddrive and it works well. If i update "myDSL" with firefox, it works until reboot. Do i have to install it separatly? If so, which command do i have to use?
I know it might be a stupid question, but can someone post a step-by-step instructiuon.
Thank you very much.

I'm having the exact same problem. I installed DSL to my hard drive. Opened up myDSL and chose firefox.uci and everything worked fine till I rebooted. The icon is still there but clicking it does nothing. Any help is appreciated.
[edit] I did search around here and I'm fairly sure it has something to do with mounting the .uci file but I was unable to glean a proper method for automating these mounts when I boot up.
Here is one way:
1) Open up emelfm.
2) Find the *.uci file and select (single-click) it.
3) Click on the myDSL button inside emelfm window.
4) Exit emelfm
Thanks for the reply cbagger01. I figured out how to mount the .uci files manually each time, but what I was hoping for were instructions on getting them to mount on their own when I boot (i.e. so I don't have to do anything).
I think I found another way though since I went back to myDSL and downloaded firefox-0.9.3.dsl after adding hda2 in the "add hard drives section" at the bottom, and downloaded it. After restarting it seemed to load firefox automatically. I don't know if that's better than the .uci though.
if you want it to start automaticlly add either one of these (not sure the executable name)
firefox &
or
mozilla-firefox &
to your /home/[username i.e. dsl]/.xinitrc file just before the line for fluxbox (or enlightenment
)
