HD Install :: Can't read CF card

I use a PC with HD 40G, and CF 512M. The CF card is perfect recognize in windows system with FAT format. DSL(Run with the Live CD in the 'toram' mode in the PC, version 3.1) can recongize HD but not CF. Then i disconnected the HD, DSL found neither HD, nor CF.
What should be the problem?
Is DSL sensible with the adapter of CF card? If yes, which adapter is suitable?
