HD Install :: HD installed ???

Hi all, first attempt to do Linux, esspecially dual boot. I first attempted to "frugal", (3 times), on slave hdb1, couldn't find or boot , finally installed to HD, know its there but lilo didn't boot DSL, how do I get to Lilo? and fix it?

PS= Win98se - 233mhz - 160mb

Fast fix: set your bios to boot off hdb.
Reason: DSL will install the bootloader to the MBR of the device of the partition used for installation.

There are other solutions, but that's up to you on how you want to set it up.

Thanks thr, but my computor doesn't see hdb and my bios doesn't list "b". I have tried to find and or make a boot disk of some kind but as you can see, I am pretty limited on knowledge and experiance. Thank you again.

No, usually under your bios, it uses a different convention, set it to boot off the other/secondary hard drive.

after you got that working you might have to edit the " lilo-config" to have it find the windows on your other disk. (prolly hda1)
