HD Install :: old 80486 with cdrom that not support booting

I've an old PC with a BIOS that don't support booting from CDROM drive.
Is it possible to install from cd ? I did format the hard drive and installed dos 6.2. to have a driver for the CD drive.

Some ideas:

You could try using a bootfloppy/disc, etc.

Or you could copy DSL from the cd onto your harddrive, and modify your bootloader.

Or you can try loadlin if you want to try working off dos.
