HD Install :: monitor problem

when i try load the liv cd, my monitor turns off, i've tried a few different resolution settings and it only turns off after i select the res etc and it starts detecting the hardware, any ideas how to get round this. its a dell gx1

Try booting with some vga= or some fb codes.

Also, trying noacpi acpi=off noapm apm=off may work if you have a power issue.

You could also try failsafe as a last resort.
