Looks like this could potentially be a hardware-related problem - could you post your system specs? Also, are there any errors leading up to the final error?

I'm assuming nothing else went wrong and that this is only an X problem - but you can check dmesg after if you still have console access.

Computer: Dell XPi
CPU: Mobile Pentium 75-200 running at 99mhz
PS2 mouse - 2 button
Hard drive: Hitachi 30 gb
Display: Magigaph NM2070
NIC (docking adapter): 3Com 3C920

Memory: 40MB

There were no other error messages leading up to that one.

Can you run dmesg?

And did you try booting with xsetup (or run xsetup.sh)?
