HD Install :: System is installed, how can i make it read-only

Hello, I have installed DSL and now want to split the partition into two and make one of them read only (the system partition). The writable partition will be used to store user info (pics, mp3's, files, etc)

When i do the install to hd, there is no option to specify partitions. Also, does dsl come with a utility to view the partitions on the hard drive?

-Thanks for the help.

If you do a type of frugal, just remove the "frugal" line from your bootloader to mount the partition that the image is on RO.

The install scripts should prompt you for the partition.

theres fdisk, cfdisk, parted,...

Please see the first page on dillo if you need more info (or wiki)

If i change it in the bootloader to read only (by removing the frugal line), how would I ever change it back?

Also, where is the bootloader file to make the change?

-Thanks

Just add the "frugal" code back.  Note that this only affects "frugal" type installs.

Depends on which bootloader you are using.

Seems we've merged the two threads i started. Let's refer back to the other one. --Thanks
