HD Install :: installing dsl, we have to get rid of windows?
hello,
im trying to install dsl on pentium III 450 mhz 32 ram , (what di you think, i better not ..the machine is too" week" ?)
im reading this page on the wiki
http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/wiki....rd_Disk
theres this part that says "assuming that you are ready to blow away all you existing data storage ....create 2 new partitions..
well, i donīt want to delete my files, ii wouldnīt mind putting them in a partition , but so far i donīt want to "delete" them (maybe if dsl is more fatser than win98 , i will end up deleting win98, but first i wanna test it..
so is there a way, for me to install dsl to the hd , but not deleting the partitions i already have (window partitions)
currently this pc has 2 partition , one where windows is installed and other with win98 instalation and all of th esetups for the computer, drivers, etc.. thi sone especialy i donīt want to "delete"
any help? thanks.
You may want to try an application that will resize your Windows partition, such as Partition Magic, rather than using cfdisk to completely rebuild your partition table. Alternately, you could add a second harddrive and not touch your Windows partition at all.
