HD Install :: frugal_lite.sh install problem

I am trying to install DSL on my Toshiba 110CT laptop (P1 75mhz, 8mb of RAM) using the instructions in the documentation.  Everything seemed to work fine until I booted DSL off the boot floppy and got the following error message:

Accessing DSL image at /dev/hda2.../modules/cloop.o: can't allocate kernel memory for module; needed 8740 bytes
Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry.
Dropping you to a (very limited ) shell.
Press reset button to quit.

I am relatively new to Linux and completely new to DSL.  I searched the forums and google to no avail.  Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.

With only 8MB of ram, you won't be able to run much even if you get it installed. The lowest ram system that I am aware of is 12MB that clivesay did. On the website, we state 16MB minimum. You could probably run a runlevel 2, text mode.  But, if you want to try to continue...

Do you have a swap partition?
Is swapon ?
