HD Install :: /bin directory wiped out, only 32MB RAM
OK, I have a frugal install, I am on an old laptop I bought off eBay for £44. It only has 32MB RAM. I know the problem is that when I usr myDSL it does something to the /bin directory, fills up my RAM, and /bin disappears completely.
Is there a way to specify a temporary bin partition. I don't want a persistent bin, I just want it bigger than my ramdisk. That could maybe be a feature for a new release, unless there's a way now.
With low memory, only use uci and unc type extensions.
Do not download these extensions into /tmp, as that is on the ramdisk.
Download them to a hard drive. Still won't be too much you can run with so low of memory.
If you create a linux swap partition some of it will be used to make the ramdisk a little larger.
Yeah, I have a swap. OK, I'll only use UNC and UCI. Thanks.
