HD Install :: Burning an ISO image.
hiya!
i've got a busted up old machine. its running ubuntu linux but its awefully slow... hmmm anyway. i got me a new machine... ubuntu works fine on that... wanna install DSL on my old one...
i downloaded the 3.01 version iso image... i was in windows so i guess i just opened up daemon tools and mounted the image... then i copied the mounted drive into the CD /R and burned it... anyway the CD will not boot! am i missing something? the BIOS is set to boot from CD rom...
the contents of my CD are cd:\boot\ , cd:\knoppix and cd:\lost+found... on the root of the CD there is only 1 html file index.html
did i burn the image wrong? do i move all the files under boot\ folder to the root of the cd?
please some suggestions.
cheers

You succeeded in burning a data disk with the same contents as a proper DSL CD, but it has no boot sector. The CD should be burned as a disk image, which means that you should not burn it using a regular CD session.
