ok, so i have a 100mhz 16mb ram laptop on which i did an hd install using some slack disks.
hda1 +75M hda2 +75M hda4 (all the rest of a 800mb drive)
so it took about 13 minutes to boot to a point where i was in X and could move my mouse and be at a 6% cpu usage.
I thought DSL would be the distro im looking for.. How can i slim it down so i still have X and its programs, but its not so bloody slow.
what can i do? This machine supported win 9x pretty goodIs one of your partitions mounted as swap? Otherwise I bet it's too slow!
If you use the 'bloated' Fluxbox, switch to jwmyes, my biggest partition is setup as linux swap... im using whatever the default system settings are, i havent changed anything.post the dump from mount and top, please!For low ram X Window session, type:
