HD Install :: How do I make it the only OS?

I have a laptop with a 14 gig HD, 128 MB of RAM and a 800 MHZ processor. It currently has a virus destroyed Windows 2000 NT install on it that I want to change to a purely DSL install to where there is no option to boot to Windows and it just boots up to DSL.

Also can I play DVDs through DSL?

Depending on how familiar you are with dsl and things linux, the first place to go would most probably be the FAQs or the wiki. Look up HD install. It is fairly easy to install dsl, so good luck and enjoy!

Fisrtly, run DSL form a live cd, see if if the pc is workable (wireless, netcard, modem, other peripherals). If you are sure you can live withous winblows, perform the install directly from the cdrom
