HD Install :: Unknown SouthBridge message

Sorry all - forgot to say.

The "Unknown SouthBridge "message results when I install the hard drive from my older machine (happily running dsl) into my new computer and try to run dsl.

The computer displays about twnety or thirty lines of text and then hits the following line:

"VP-IDE: Unknown VIA SouthBridge, disabling DMA"

and then just sits and sits and sits.
