HD Install :: DSL install Hangs?
Hi, I'm trying to install DSL on an EXTREAMLY old machine. 166MHz, and 16MB of RAM. Now I figured that I could maybe install it. But for some reason the install hangs on a screen with a mouse and everything, but nothing else. There is just a black and white backround with an X for a mouse. Anyone know what's happening? Thanks~
What happens if you "Right-Click" your mouse on the screen?
Also, you might want to try typing in:
lowram
at the boot prompt.
By install do you mean a hard disk install? If so, you could boot into command line (which uses less memory) by writing "dsl 2" at the "boot:"-prompt, and then run the install script.
