HD Install :: hd syslinux dsl install problem
Update. I saw a frugal install shortcut that looks like it's what I need so I will try it tonight.
Try to boot DSL with the boot option "dsl 2" when you use cfdisk and fdisk. This will boot DSL in mode text only.
Here useful documentation: Frugal Howto
Good Night
Success!!! Nothing worked right but a little of everyones help did the trick. I went in text mode(dsl 2 at the prompt) and tried "fdisk hda". This didn't work so I tried cfdisk and went right into a screen that saw my hd and I made it bootable. This didn't work from a shell in the DSL GUI live cd but worked in text mode. I then rebooted into the live cd and did hard install again. This time at the "proceed to reboot" prompt the machine did what it did before, froze with no more action. I manualy turned it off, rebooted from the hd and every worked as it should. Special thanks to Piccolo for sticking it out with me, your last post would have done the trick I think for sure but I had gotton the same info elsewhere. Thanks again everyone. Craig
