HD Install :: input/output errors

Hi,

I tried to install DSL on my old laptop like it is described here. The filesystem is installed without any probs, but then I got:
Code Sample

suprious 8259A interruopt IRQ7
scsi0 error

but then i allways got something like:

Code Sample

scsi0: ERROR on  channel 0, id 0, lun 0, CDB: 0x03
Current: sd0b:00:  sns 70 3
ASC = 2 ASCQ = 0
Raw sense data: 0x70 0x00 0x03 .....
I/O error: dev 0b:00 sector [number]
cloop: read error at pos [number] in file /cdrom/[file], [number] bytes lost
cloop: error -3 uncompressing block [number]
tar: [package]: read arror at byte 0, reading [number] bytes: Input / output error

i guess for every package DSL tries to install. What is this? What did i made wrong? Any suggestions?

My Laptop:

Dell Latitude CPi D266XT, 64 MB RAM, 267 MHz, 44832 MB disk

Partitions:
/dev/hda1 swap (256 mb)
/dev/hda2 linux (rest) <-- thatīs where i try to install

Installation:
hda2
no multi-user-logins (only btw)
no journalized ext3 fs

Thanks for help!

Have you tried the option "dsl noscsi" ?
What do i have to type?

"dsl-hdinstall noscsi" ? This does not work!

Press F2 at start to get to ther cheat code list. All you type is > dsl noscsi.
yeah, i tried that, but i allways thought, that thatīs only for the boot from cd...but what do i have to type for installing DSL without any scsi.

What i already did was:

- booting, waiting for prompt, then type "dsl-hdinstall noscsi"

- boot: dsl noscsi THEN after having boot: "dsl-hdinstall"

Both ways dont work

Do i understand something wrong?
