HD Install :: DSL whitout X is it possible?

I would like to run DSL on a very old headless machine now is my question is it possible to disable X on boot?

try booting with the "dsl 2" boot option. That should start you in text only at runlevel 2.

You can add the "2" cheatcode to your LILO or GRUB stanza for dsl if you boot from the hd. If you boot from the floppy, you can add it to the .cfg file there, or you can add it to the list of cheatcodes if you do a remaster or mkmydsl CD.

Tingle - you might also wish to play with some of the other text modes at startup, instead of just dsl 2, I someimes use "Linux vga=788" to get more on the display when in text mode. That can also be added to the Lilo boot.
