HD Install :: installed to hardrive but not bootign without disk

i put the live cd in then when the command line came up i typed in install, and it went through all that fine and installed (i think) and then at the end it ejected the cd and restarted. But it wont start, so i resterted it my self and it didnt work again. I thikn the problem is that i set the computer a while ago to boot from the cd drive, and it dosent even look at the hardrive no. I dont have anyother os on the system right now, and am woundering how i can chage it to boot dsl from the hardrive?

i am using and old ibm thinkpad laptop.

you need to change that it in the bios settings. try holding delete or f2 when you reboot the computer.

I should tell you the key to press on the first screen anyway.
