HD Install :: Don't know SU Password

I did a frugal install the other day and now I want to actually start installing software.

The problem I am seeing is: I can't install because it asks for the SU or root.

I don't recall being asked to setup the SU or Root? Can someone point me into the right direction here.

sorry everyone... I did some digging in the forum and found this

Open an xterminal and type:

sudo su
passwd

and then enter a new password
