You're right fxb. My MB has SiS inside.

Do you know why dsl doesn't work with sis? Is it just the way that the sis controller works or the s/w not talking to it correctly?

I dont know why, SIS works with other distributions which are not based on knoppix, thats all what i know.

Try to use cheat code:
dsl dma

it should work.
