HD Install :: Install to HD

ok I got the sudo su, cfdisk bit, but then that screen appears with the hard-drive and what not. Having never partioned myself (at least not manually) I have no idea  what I'm supposed to do.
You have to have freespace already made, unfortunately it wont do like (partition magic) and move parition then make new one...

My suggestion is to get a bootable cd like ULTIMATE BOOT CD and then make a 250MEG or larger parition that is freespace...

Then use cfdisk in which you create a type 2 (i believe option 82 on cfdisk) to make the parition..once you write it, reboot, then type "dsl-hdinstall" at the shell prompt....

You have to remember the dev name of the newly made linux partition (usually /dev/hda2---you can leave of the /dev in the install)

Hope this helps
