HD Install :: Ancient laptop HDD install

As you may have guessed, i am completely new to linux.

I am trying to install DSL on an IBM 340 laptop. I have downloaded and transferred the file using windows and a serial cable, and i want to install it. I also want to delete win3.1. :angry:
