USB booting :: Can't write to sda1



Ok,

You'll figure I'm new to this.  After reading from this forum, I succeeded to boot DSL from my Lexar 1gb jumpdrive.  The problem is this:  I can't write on it from DSL.  When I try to make sda1 writable, the system replies that I don't have permission to do this.  Well I tried to be very polite but... no luck.  

Any Idea?
(1) Try booting with the:

dsl frugal

command.

or

(2) Try running emelfm as superuser.

your /dev/sda1 is mounted to /cdrom with read only because of the compressed knoppix file need to be cloop. you need to boot with toram option to free up your usb drive. well, its actually not that simple; there is a bug in the minirt24.gz-linuxrc that you need to fix in order todo toram; if you really want to know how to fix it search for 'toram' in dsl- usbbooting forum.
