myDSL Extensions (deprecated) :: Zip File Creation



I am new to DSL but I notice that there is no ZIP creation that's out-of-the-box compatable with XP zip support.  Maybe it's there and i'm not looking in the right place but I didn't see it.
in emelfm highlight the file/folder, right click, go plugins and then pack, change the file type to zip and click ok.

possibly, many people are not first time dsl users, just first time forum posters, and many have used other distros before, prehaps a poll is in order?
yeah! nice method to zip files with emelfm (my favorite filemanager - after midnight-commander  :;): ) but what about creating spanned zip-files in floppy sizes to get the revolution to my oldest laptop with no cd/usb/ethernet?  
i was trying the whole last night using the f****** terminal  :p
